Nigeria Police Academy also known as Polac, Kano State. It was founded in 2013 when academic activities at the Academy started. The Nigeria Police Academy was founded in 1988 after recognizing the need to improve the quality of the Nigeria police force through the training of effective and community-based police forces that meet the ever-growing and complex demands of law enforcement and criminal justice administration. The goal is to produce professionally trained officers who will compete with their counterparts in other parts of the world.
Since Polac inception, the Academy has run two specialised short-service courses for Cadet Inspectors and Cadet ASPs, the latter for graduates of different specialties.

In addition to academic and professional training, the Police Academy pursues training in cutting-edge research and conducts research on law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety and conflict resolution issues.
